Honourable speakers of the opening:
Yuri V. Lonchakov, cosmonaut and director of GCTC – Yuri A. Gagarin Centre for Research and Cosmonaut Training, Star City
The exhibition showcased the Vzor window of the Vostok-2 spacecraft, through which German S. Titov filmed the surface of the Earth for the first time. The Zenit 3-M camera and Konvas film camera that recorded this historical footage will also be put on display. Exhibition is a part of the Space Sight thematic focus in KSEVT and offers a unique insight to physics and historical development of space photography and film, both a significant part of human experience in space. It raises awareness about how photographic and film observation of the Earth from space actually begins on Earth: by selecting equipment, describing tasks and training cosmonauts.
